Providing skills training, work experience, job placement and retention services to program participants.
Training consultant since 2017 for the Maryland Center for Hospitality Training providing job readiness training services through Baltimore City Department of Social Services (BCDSS) for successful employment of Baltimore City residents transitioning from welfare to work.
Subcontracted with KRA since 2012 to provide job placement services through Baltimore City Department of Social Services (BCDSS) contracts for Work Participation Placement and Support Services. KPS has successfully placed over 100 clients a year in jobs through this contract.
The purpose of this work is to leverage people off of Temporary Cash Assistance into income from work sufficient for them to meet their own financial needs. We presume that the expedited placement of a customer into a job, accompanied by supports that will help them retain that job, is the most effective pathway off of welfare and into a life of work. Also, to ensure that opportunities meet the work requirement based on the profile of Customers including, assistance with child care, mental health supports, remedial education, skilled training and job placement.
